AN ACT concerning

Optometrists - Inactive Status

FOR the purpose of specifying that an optometrist may have
his license placed on inactive status and reactivated,
in accordance with certain requirements.

BY adding to

Article 43 - Health

Section 375(d)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

375.

(D) (1) AN OPTOMETRIST MAY HAVE HIS LICENSE PLACED
ON AN INACTIVE STATUS, IF THE OPTOMETRIST:

(I)   SUBMITS TO THE BOARD, ON THE FORM
THAT IT REQUIRES, AN APPLICATION FOR INACTIVE STATUS; AND

(II)  PAYS TO THE BOARD THE INACTIVE STATUS
FEE SET BY THE BOARD.

(2) AN OPTOMETRIST ON INACTIVE STATUS MAY
REACTIVATE HIS LICENSE AT ANY TIME, IF THE OPTOMETRIST:

(I)   COMPLIES WITH ANY CONTINUING
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS SET BY THE BOARD; AND

(II)  PAYS TO THE BOARD THE REINSTATEMENT
FEE SET BY THE BOARD.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
