RESOLUTION NO. 13-78

A RESOLUTION of the Mayor and City Council of
Hyattsville proposed pursuant to Article 23A, Section 11
through 18, titled "Corporations — Municipal", subtitled
"Charter Amendments" of the Annotated Code of Maryland to
amend Section 5—23 of the Charter of the City of
Hyattsville, for the purpose of changing the amount above
which contracts must be bid.

[Section 5—23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, as found in the 1963 Edition and
1967 Supplement, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date December 26, 1978]

RESOLUTION NO. R-5-A-1978

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SECTION 403.3 OF THE INDIAN HEAD
TOWN CHARTER PROVIDING FOR MUNICIPAL INFRACTIONS, A
NON-CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND PENALTIES THEREFORE AND TO AMEND
THE SAME SECTION TO INCREASE PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANORS IN
ORDER TO CONFORM TO STATE LAW.

WHEREAS, the State of Maryland General Assembly has
adopted legislation providing for Municipal Infraction, a
non—criminal offense, and has provided for penalties for
violation thereof; and

WHEREAS, the same legislation has increased penalties
for misdemeanors committed within a municipality; and

WHEREAS, the Charter of the Town of Indian Head does
not address either the Municipal Infraction offense or the
increased penalties for misdemeanors; and

WHEREAS, Article 23A, Section 13 of the Maryland
Annotated Code provides for Municipal Charter amendment by
resolution.

[Section 164(d) of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Charles County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.
