In this regard, all departments and agencies of
State Government shall furnish information and
other such assistance as may be necessary and
available to further the purposes of this Order.
[7.] 6. The members of the existing Council
shall continue to serve for the balance of their
terms.
EXECUTIVE ORDER OF FEBRUARY 20, 1979

WHEREAS, I Harry R. Hughes, Governor of the State of
Maryland, have previously issued an Executive
Proclamation proclaiming a situation of public crisis,
emergency and civil disturbance within the City of
Baltimore;
WHEREAS, I proclaimed and announced in such Executive
Proclamation that by reason of such public emergency
and crisis, I would promulgate and issue such
reasonable Executive Orders and other regulations as
deemed necessary to protect life and property in the
areas designated above or to bring the emergency
situation within the affected areas under control; and
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the foregoing and because I am
informed and persuaded that the following is reasonably
necessary in view of the situation of emergency, I do
hereby proclaim and issue the following further order:
1. No person shall be allowed on the public
streets, grounds, or highways in the City of
Baltimore between the hours of 7:00 P.M.,
Tuesday, February 20, 1979, and 5:00 A.M.,
Wednesday, February 21, 1979, unless for the
purpose of answering emergency calls or going to
or from their place of employment.
2. Any violation of this order shall be
punishable as a misdemeanor and shall subject the
offender to a fine of not more than one hundred
dollars ($100.00) or not more than sixty (60)
days incarceration, or both, upon conviction
thereof.
