Chapter 976, the said Chapter 976 of the Acts of 1978 has
therefore been ratified by the qualified voters of the State
of Maryland.

STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland
on November 7, 1978, an Act known as Chapter 977 of the Acts
of 1978 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT concerning Kent County - Quick-Take Condemnation
Authority for Chestertown. For the purpose of granting to
the governing body of Chestertown, Kent County, certain
authority to take certain unimproved land in Chestertown,
Maryland if there is an immediate need for the land for
certain public purposes, including the extension of
municipal water, sewer, and storm drain facilities;
providing for payment for land so taken; and submitting this
amendment to the qualified voters of the State of Maryland
for their adoption or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election,
210,480 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 977
and 210,645 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 977, the said Chapter 977 of the Acts of 1978 has
therefore failed ratification.
