HARRY HUGHES, Governor                               2349

on November 7, 1978, an Act known as Chapter 975 of the Acts
of 1978 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:

AN ACT concerning Amendments to the Constitution. For
the purpose of providing an alternative means of publicizing
amendments to the Maryland Constitution by order of the
Governor; providing methods of publicizing amendments; and
submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of the
State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.

And it is hereby certified that at said election,
367,378 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 975
and 151,728 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 975, the said Chapter 975 of the Acts of 1978 has
therefore been ratified by the qualified voters of the State
of Maryland.

GIVEN Under My Hand and the Seal of the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws of the State of
Maryland, Done at the City of Annapolis, this 30th day of
November, In the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand, Nine
Hundred and Seventy-Eight.

STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland
on November 7, 1978, an Act known as Chapter 976 of the Acts
of 1978 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:

AN ACT concerning Compensation of Public Officers. For
the purpose of reducing the number of years required to be
in the term of office of a public officer before an
incumbent public officer's salary may be altered; clarifying
language; and submitting this amendment to the qualified
voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption or
rejection.

And it is hereby certified that at said election,
339,758 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 976
