This bill includes library associates in the Anne
Arundel County public library system within the coverage of
the Teachers' Retirement System.

At its meeting of March 13, 1979, the Board of Trustees
of the Teachers' Retirement System determined that Public
Library Associate positions are the equivalent of
provisionally certificated library staff and are therefore
eligible for membership in the Teachers' Retirement System.
The Board's action achieves the same result and obviates the
need for a change in the statute.

For this reason I have decided to veto House Bill 901.

AN ACT concerning

Gaming Lavs — Disposition of Contraband Honey

FOR the purpose of prescribing the effect of probation under
Article 27, Section 641, on a claim for return of money
seized for a violation of gaming lavs; and generally
relating to claims for return of such seized money.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 931.

This bill prescribes the effect of probation on a claim
for return of money seized for a violation of gaming lavs.

Senate Bill 6 04, which as enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 1, 1979, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
931.
