Senate Bill 358, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 29, 1979, accomplishes the

same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
114.

House Bill No. 218

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws — Disabled Persons Parking Permit

FOR the purpose of providing for the issuance of a Disabled
Person's Parking Permit by the Motor Vehicle
Administration; establishing eligibility requirements
for the applicant; setting an issuance and renewal fee;
setting an expiration date; specifying the permits
permit's form and content; providing for the permit's
use and the privileges to be derived therefrom;
prohibiting its use by other than the person to whom
issued; prohibiting a person from committing fraud in
applying for or using the permit, and generally
relating to the issuance and use of a Disabled Persons
Parking Permit.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 218.

This bill provides for the issuance of windshield
placards to eligible handicapped individuals for vehicle
identification.

Senate Bill 34, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 1, 1979, accomplishes the
same purpose.
