educational programs in the State. Written reports of these
surveys shall be made by the Board. If the Board determines
that any electrology education program is not maintaining
the standards required by the statutes and by the Board, it
shall give notice immediately in writing to the institution
or school conducting the program specifying the defect or
defects found by the Board.

(5)    If the defects specified by the Board are
not corrected within a reasonable time to the satisfaction
of the Board, the Board after an opportunity for a hearing,
may remove the institution or school from the list of
acceptable electrology education programs, and in the case
of a school of practical training, revoke the license of the
school.

(6)    The electrology education program shall
consist of a two—part program:

(i) Academic lecturing in theory of
electrology for a minimum of 20 hours to be given by a
physician licensed to practice medicine in the State, in an
institution of higher learning; and

(ii) Practical education and clinical
experience for a minimum of 80 hours to be given by
certified instructor electrologist in school of practical
electrology licensed under this subtitle.

(7)    The Board shall attempt to establish a
program of at least 2 years credit in electrology at an
institution of higher learning.

(j) (1) An application for examination for license
to practice electrology shall be made on an application
supplied by the Board. The applicant shall show written
evidence verifying successful completion of theory and
practical education as defined by this subtitle.
Examinations shall be administered by the Board at least
twice yearly. Examination fee shall be $100. The applicant
may retake any portion of examination failed upon payment of
reexamination fee of $50. If failure occurs after two
reexamination attempts, applicant must retake the entire
examination and pay the examination fee of $100.

(2)    The Board approved theory examination shall
be administered by the Board or institution offering theory
education. Passage of the theory examination is necessary
prior to proceeding to the practical training phase of
qualification for licensure.

(3)    The application for examination for a
license to teach the practical education and clinical
training of student electrologists shall be made on forms
supplied by the Board. The applicant shall meet
qualifications in this subtitle for certified instructor
electrologists. The instructor examination shall be
