administered by the Board and the fee for this shall be
$100. The applicant may retake any portion of examination
failed upon payment of reexamination fee of $50. If failure
occurs after two reexamination attempts, the applicant must
retake the entire examination and pay the examination fee of
$100.
(k) The Board in its discretion may waive the
examination required by this subtitle and issue a license to
practice electrology in this State upon payment of
examination fee of $100 and license fee of $100, renewable
biennially if the applicant holds a valid license to
practice electrology in another state, provided, in the
opinion of the Board, the requirements for licensure in that
state are at least equivalent to the requirements for
licensure under this subtitle.
(1) All persons licensed under this subtitle may use
the title "registered electrologist" and the abbreviation
"R. E. " Instructor electrologists licensed under this
subtitle may also use the title "certified instructor
electrologist." Use of other wording or abbreviations is
not permitted under this subtitle.
(m) Advertising whether oral or printed by registered
electrologists, certified instructor electrologists or
schools of practical electrology licensed under this
subtitle shall be executed in a professional manner and
shall be subject to the decision of the board as to whether
it is misleading or fraudulent.
(n) The provisions of subsection (e) of this section
shall not apply to those electrologists and instructor
electrologists holding valid licenses in this State on July
1, 1978. All electrologists and instructor electrologists
currently licensed in the State of Maryland and in good
standing at the time this law is enacted, will automatically
be eligible for license renewal on October 31, 1978, without
further examination.]
