(2) MONEY RECEIVED FROM THE SALE OF THIS
PROPERTY MAY BE USED, IF APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC
WORKS, ONLY TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL PROPERTY ADJACENT TO OR
IMPROVE FACILITIES AT CAMP THENDARA IN DORCHESTER COUNTY.

THIS MONEY MAY NOT BE APPLIED TO THE ANNUITY BOND FUND.

HOWEVER, IN THE EVENT THAT THE BOARD OF REGENTS FAILS TO

OBTAIN THE APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS TO PURCHASE
THE ADDITIONAL PROPERTY WITHIN 2 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF SALE

OF THE PROPERTY DESIGNATED IN PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS

SUBSECTION, THE PROCEEDS OF THE SALE SHALL BE APPLIED TO THE
ANNUITY BOND FUND ACCOUNT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

(Senate Bill 303)

AN ACT concerning

University of Maryland — Graduate Fellowships

FOR the purpose of amending the provisions for graduate
fellowships at the University of Maryland to restrict

the number of fellowships by the annual appropriation,

rather than a set number, to set a minimum amount for a

fellowship, and to provide for a variable maximum

amount, rather than a set maximum repealing certain
restrictive sections of the Code, establishing a
minimum and maximum monetary amount of a graduate
fellowship at the University of Maryland and;
increasing the number of annual fellowships that the
University of Maryland can certify; and requiring
compliance with State desegregation goals in making
fellowship awards when possible.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 18-901 (b); (e) (1) and (f)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1978 Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
