LICENSES SHALL BE REMITTED TO THE COUNTY TREASURER TO BE
PLACED IN THE GENERAL FUNDS. THE CLERK SHALL ISSUE TO ANY
PERSON PAYING THE REQUIRED FEE A METAL TAG INDICATING THAT
THE FEE FOR THE CURRENT YEAR HAS BEEN PAID, AND THAT TAG
SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE WAGON, CART OR MOTOR VEHICLE USED
BY THE APPLICANT. ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE PROVISIONS OF
THIS SUBSECTION SHALL BE FINED NOT LESS THAN $200 NOR MORE
THAN $500.
(D) A NONRESIDENT ITINERANT MAGAZINE SALESMAN MAY NOT
SELL, SOLICIT, OR ATTEMPT TO SELL OR SOLICIT ANY MAGAZINE OR
OTHER PUBLICATION WITHIN THE COUNTY UNTIL HE HAS OBTAINED A
LICENSE FOR THAT PURPOSE. THE LICENSE SHALL BE ISSUED BY
THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT AND THE FEE IS $50 A YEAR.
ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBSECTION SHALL
BE FINED NOT LESS THAN $100 NOR MORE THAN $300.
(Note: The provisions of this Section are proposed for
transfer from Sections 176 through 177A of the Public Local
Laws of Calvert County.)
193.
(A) The county commissioners of the several counties
shall prepare, and furnish annually to the county treasurer,
and to the tax collecting officer, metal tags to be given
the owners of dogs when such owners shall pay the license
fee for said dogs. Such tags shall be of metal, and shall
have serial number corresponding with the number on the
license issued to said owner, as provided in § 191. Such
tags shall also have impressed thereon the calendar year for
which such tag is issued, and shall not be more than one
inch in length, and shall be equipped with a substantial
metal fastening device. The general shape of said tag
shall be changed from year to year, and the tags furnished
owners of kennels shall have the word "kennel" thereon. If
any such tag is lost it shall be replaced by the county
treasurer, or tax collecting office, upon application by the
person to whom the original license was issued, upon the
production of such license and payment of a fee of
twenty—five cents.
(B) IN CALVERT COUNTY THE TAG MAY NOT BE MORE THAN
TWO INCHES IN LENGTH AND SHALL COST 50 CENTS FOR A
REPLACEMENT IF THE ORIGINAL IS LOST.
