HARRY HUGHES, Governor                                  1877

gainful employment by the people of Calvert County and thus
to assure the preservation and betterment of the economy of
Calvert County. [It is also declared that] FURTHER, it is
in the interest of the public welfare and purpose to promote
the operation and diversification of industry, to increase
employment, and to provide a larger taxable base for the
economy of Calvert County. Therefore, the Industrial Park
Authority of Calvert County is created for the purpose of
acquiring, constructing, developing, improving, operating,
and managing an industrial park in the County, including
leasing or selling all or part of the land acquired or to be
acquired, and any buildings or appurtenances to be
constructed [thereon] ON THE LAND by the Authority to
constitute the industrial park and thus improve the welfare
of the public [for the foregoing reasons].

The County Commissioners of [Calvert County] from time
to time may appropriate [monies] MONEYS for the purpose of
acquiring, constructing, developing, improving, operating,
and managing the Industrial Park of Calvert County by the
Industrial Park Authority of Calvert County. These [monies]
HONEYS may be taken from THE general funds of the County,
from the proceeds of any issue of bonds authorized for this
purpose, and from any other grants or payments made to the
County or to the Industrial Park Authority for the purposes
of this subtitle.

177D.

(a) The Industrial Park Authority of Calvert County,
[hereinafter] WHICH SHALL BE called the "Authority", is
[created and established] a body corporate and politic and
is constituted a public instrumentality of the County [, and
the]. THE exercise by the Authority of the powers conferred
by the provisions of this subtitle shall be deemed [and
held] to be the performance of essential governmental
functions. The Authority [shall consist] CONSISTS of seven
members, appointed by the County Commissioners, subject to
the approval of the County delegation to the General
Assembly, for a period of three years [as herein provided].
The membership shall include:

[1.] (1) [an] AN elected official[.];

[2.] (2) fa] A representative of a financial
institution[.];

[3.] (3) [the] THE Superintendent of Schools or his
designee[. ];

[4.] (4) THE Chairman of the Calvert County Economic
Development Commission, or his designee [.];

[ 5.] (5) [a] A farmer [.];
