PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY SHALL BE DEEMED AUTHORIZED TO OBTAIN
POLICE RECORDS ON APPLICANTS AND THEIR AGENTS FROM THE
MARYLAND STATE POLICE AND COUNTY POLICE.        THE BOARD WILL

DESTROY THESE RECORDS UPON COMPLETION OF ITS NECESSARY USE
OF SUCH RECORDS;

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

AN ACT concerning

Handicapped Persons — Parking Lot Spaces

FOR the purpose of requiring certain parking lots to reserve
a specified number of designated parking spaces for
automobiles that have a disabled person registration
number on their—license plates or permit; and to
require certain parking lots to bo made
—accessible to
handicapped—people by conforming to certain building
codes
.

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1977 Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article — Transportation

21-1006.

(A) IN THIS SECTION, "PARKING LOT" MEANS ANY PARKING
LOT RESERVED FOR THE USE OF PERSONS ENTERING A RETAIL STORE
OR SHOPPING CENTER THAT HAS MORE THAN 10,000 20,000 SQUARE
FEET OF USABLE FLOOR AREA, EXCEPT A PARKING LOT BUILT IN
COMPLIANCE WITH THE MARYLAND BUILDING CODE FOR THE
HANDICAPPED AND AGED.

(b) EACH PARKING LOT SHALL CONFORM TO THE PROVISIONS

OF THE MARYLAND PERFORMANCE CODE FOR BUILDINGS THAT APPLY TO

HANDICAPPED PERSONS.
