physical therapist assistants AND TO ISSUE LICENSES and
shall make such other rules and regulations, not
inconsistent with this subtitle, as are necessary for the
examination and licensure of applicants, for suspension or
revocation of licenses, for establishment of acceptable
standards of practice, and for establishment of ethical
standards.

(a) The Board may refuse to grant a license to an
applicant, may reprimand a licensee or place him on
probation, or it may suspend or revoke a license on any of
the following grounds:
(6) [The practice of] PERFORMING physical
therapy [other than under] PROCEDURES WITHOUT INCONSISTENT
WITH the written or verbal [[order] CONSENT of a
physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery, a
licensed dentist, or a licensed podiatrist;

(a) (1) [All persons who make application] EACH
APPLICANT for licensure as a physical therapist shall be of
good moral character and meet the following requirements:
(i) If educated in the United States or
Puerto Rico, be a graduate of a [school or course of]
physical therapy CURRICULUM which, in the year of
graduation, [is] WAS approved by the Council on Medical
Education of the American Medical Association or the
American Physical Therapy Association and provide evidence
of GRADUATION PROM AND satisfactory completion of the
clinical training required by the [school or course]
CURRICULUM; or
(ii) If educated in a foreign country, be
a graduate of a [school or course of] physical therapy
CURRICULUM which has educational requirements comparable to
those approved by the Council on Medical Education of the
American Medical Association or the American Physical
Therapy Association AND COMPLETE A PRECEPTORSHIP IN THE
UNITED STATES THAT FULFILLS REQUIREMENTS THAT THE BOARD
SETS.

[(a) All persons licensed] EACH APPLICANT FOR
LICENSURE as A physical [therapists] THERAPIST or physical
therapist [assistants] ASSISTANT under this subtitle[,
before the license is granted,] shall pay to the State Board
of Physical Therapy Examiners a fee, established by the
Board, which shall accompany the application for license.
The fee shall be retained by the Board, whether or not the
license is issued.
