SUPERINTENDENT SHALL ALLOW A HANDICAPPED CHILD TO REMAIN IN
A DAY-CARE CENTER ON APPLICATION FOR GOOD CAUSE BY THE
COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT. THE APPLICATION FOR GOOD CAUSE MAY
INCLUDE THE LACK OF:

(I)   AVAILABLE BUDGET FUNDS; OR

(II)   APPROPRIATE ALTERNATE SCHOOL

PLACEMENT.

(b) (2) Each [cooperating institution] CENTER shall
appoint an advisory council to provide the highest possible
degree of support and advice from the lay and professional
communities.

(e) The University of Maryland School of Medicine
shall provide for periodic, systematic evaluation of the
Maryland statewide medical education and training system [in
cooperation with the Governor's Commission on Medical
Education].

(d) Each employee of the Board shall join the State
Employees' Retirement System. However, as an alternative,
any employee in a position determined by the State Board for
Community colleges to be a professional position may join
the Teachers' Retirement System or an optional retirement
program under Article 73B[, § 1101 of the Code.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
