(House Bill 342)

AN ACT concerning

Podiatrists - Inactive Status

FOR the purpose of deleting the requirement that a
podiatrist maintain himself on inactive status and pay
an annual fee; and providing for payment of a
reinstatement fee not exceeding a certain amount to
regain active status.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 43 - Health

Section 493(b)(3)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

493.

(b) (3) A podiatrist may place and maintain himself
BE PLACED on inactive status on written application to the
Board and payment of an [annual] inactive fee established by
the Board. However, a podiatrist who is on inactive status
and desires to regain active status shall comply with any
continuing education requirements that the Board adopts AND
PAY THE REINSTATEMENT FEE ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD NOT
EXCEEDING $50.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
