(2)    SHALL BE INELIGIBLE FOR A PENSION UNDER THIS

SUBTITLE; AND WHO

(3)   SHALL BE AT LEAST 60 YEARS OF AGE; AND

(4)   WHOSE RECORD AS SUCH TEACHER SHALL BE WITHOUT
REPROACH; AND WHO

(5)    SHALL BE UNABLE TO TEACH SCHOOL BECAUSE OF
PHYSICAL DISABILITY OR INFIRMITY SHALL RECEIVE A PENSION, OF
$720 PER YEAR, PAYABLE QUARTERLY, FROM THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY IN WHICH THE TEACHER HAS TAUGHT,
EXCEPT THAT IN THE CASE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS ARE DIRECTED TO PAY A PENSION OF $50 A MONTH
TO ANY SUCH TEACHER WHO SHALL HAVE TAUGHT FOR MORE THAN 20
AND UP TO 25 YEARS, $60.00 A MONTH TO ANY SUCH TEACHER WHO
SHALL HAVE TAUGHT FOR 25 YEARS OR MORE, AND $150.00 A MONTH
TO ANY TEACHER, WHO TAUGHT FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, ANY YEAR
OF WHICH WAS PRIOR TO 1931. PROVISION FOR THE PAYMENT OF
SAID PENSIONS SHALL BE MADE IN THE NEXT ANNUAL TAX LEVY AND
IN ALL FUTURE TAX LEVIES OF SAID COUNTIES.

85. CREDITABLE SERVICE.

(1)    BOARD TO FILE STATEMENT OF SERVICE. —UNDER SUCH
RULES AND REGULATIONS AS THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL ADOPT
EACH MEMBER WHO WAS A TEACHER AT ANY TIME DURING THE YEAR
IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SYSTEM AMD
WHO BECOMES A MEMBER DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION OF
THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM, SHALL FILE A DETAILED STATEMENT OF
ALL SERVICE AS A TEACHER RENDERED BY HIM PRIOR TO THE DATE
OF ESTABLISHMENT FOR WHICH HE CLAIMS CREDIT, INCLUDING
SERVICE IN A SIMILAR CAPACITY RENDERED AS A TEACHER OUTSIDE
THE STATE OF MARYLAND.

(2)   DETERMINATION OF "ONE YEAR OF SERVICE"; MILITARY
SERVICE. —THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL FIX AND DETERMINE
BY APPROPRIATE RULES AND REGULATIONS HOW MUCH SERVICE IN ANY
YEAR IS EQUIVALENT TO ONE YEAR OF SERVICE, BUT EXCEPT AS
OTHERWISE PROVIDED, IN NO CASE SHALL MORE THAN ONE YEAR OF
SERVICE BE CREDITABLE FOR ALL SERVICE IN ONE CALENDAR YEAR.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, UNDER SUCH RULES AND REGULATIONS AS
IT SHALL ADOPT, SHALL ALLOW CREDIT, HOWEVER, TO MEMBERS
ABSENT IN THE MILITARY SERVICE DURING WORLD WAR I OR WITHIN
THE PERIODS AND UNDER THE PROVISIONS SPECIFIED IN § 88 OF
ARTICLE 65 OF THE CODE, FOR THE PERIOD OF THEIR ABSENCE,
PROVIDED THAT SUCH MEMBERS WERE TEACHERS WHEN THEY ENTERED
SUCH MILITARY SERVICE AND WHO AGAIN BECAME TEACHERS.
HOWEVER, ANY TEACHER WHOSE BOARD OF EDUCATION HAD GRANTED
HIM A LEAVE OF ABSENCE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE HE LEFT FOR
MILITARY SERVICE SHALL BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE LEFT THE
TEACHING PROFESSION FOR MILITARY SERVICE. SERVICE RENDERED
FOR THE REGULAR SCHOOL YEAR IN ANY DISTRICT SHALL BE
EQUIVALENT TO ONE YEAR'S SERVICE.

(3) VERIFICATION OF STATEMENT. —SUBJECT TO THE ABOVE
RESTRICTIONS AND TO SUCH OTHER RULES AND REGULATIONS AS THE
