LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 22

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language defining
broadly the word "person" as used in this
article. It is similar to like definitions in
previously revised articles of the Code.

The phrase "unless the context clearly requires
otherwise" that appears in §1—101 of this
subtitle should indicate that inclusion of these
governmental entities in the general meaning of
"person" in item (2) of this section is not
intended in any way to modify or otherwise affect
any extant rules or laws relating to the doctrine
of sovereign immunity, statutes of limitations,
or any other rights, duties, or functions of
these entities.

1-110. (J) PROPERTY.

ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION SYSTEM OF THIS STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second
sentence of Art. 77, §1 and Art. 77, §1A(d). It
is used to clarify the meaning of references to
the "public schools" which appear throughout this
article.

1-112. (L) STATE BOARD.

"STATE BOARD" MEANS THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as Art.
77, §1A(e).
