REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as Art.
77A, §3A(a), the first clause of (c), and §3A(d).

The balance of present Art. 77A, §3A (c) , which
specifies that the terms of the Board members are
staggered, that a member serves until his
successor is appointed, that an appointment to an
unexpired term is only for the remainder of that
term, and that a member may be reappointed, is
deleted as unnecessary in light of the similar,
generally applicable provisions of §16—201 of
this title.

Present Art. 77A, §3A(b), which requires equal
representation from each of the counties that
support Chesapeake College is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the similar, generally
applicable provisions of §16—302(b)(4) of this
title.

The cross references in the last sentence of Art.
77A, §3A(a) to Art. 77A, §2(e), and Art. 77A,
§3A(e) are deleted to resolve a problem of
circularity. This conforms with the clear intent
of §§ 2(e) and 3A(e) that, except to the extent
of any inconsistency, the provisions of this
title apply to Chesapeake College. A provision
to this effect now appears in §16-301 of this
title.

The only other changes are in style.

16-508. FREDERICK COUNTY — BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

(A)       COMPOSITION.

THE BOARD OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRUSTEES FOR FREDERICK
COUNTY CONSISTS OF SEVEN MEMBERS. OF THE MEMBERS:

(1)          EACH SHALL BE A RESIDENT OF FREDERICK
COUNTY;

(2)          FIVE SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR
UNDER §16-201 OF THIS TITLE FOR TERMS OF 5 YEARS; AND

(3)       TWO SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE FREDERICK
COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION FROM AMONG ITS MEMBERSHIP FOR
TERMS OF 1 YEAR.

(B)       TWO TERM LIMIT.

A MEMBER OF THE BOARD APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR MAY NOT
SERVE MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE 5 YEAR TERMS.

(C)       COMPENSATION.

EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD IS ENTITLED TO $500 A YEAR FOR
