16-505. CHARLES COUNTY — BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

(A)       COMPOSITION.

THE BOARD OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRUSTEES FOR CHARLES
COUNTY CONSISTS OF SEVEN MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR
UNDER §16-201 OF THIS TITLE, WITH THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF
THE SENATE. OF THE MEMBERS:

(1)   EACH SHALL BE A RESIDENT OF CHARLES COUNTY;
AND

(2)    AT LEAST FIVE SHALL HAVE COMPLETED 60
SEMESTER HOURS OF ACCREDITED COLLEGE WORK.

(B)   MEMBERS OF BOARD OF EDUCATION.

A MEMBER OF THE CHARLES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION MAY
NOT SERVE CONCURRENTLY ON THE BOARD OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE
TRUSTEES.

(C)   COMPENSATION.

EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD IS ENTITLED TO $600 A YEAR FOR
EXPENSES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second,
third, fourth, and eighth sentences of Art. 77A,
§9A(a).

The first sentence of present Art. 77A, §9A (a),
which sets up an independent board for the
Community College is deleted as obsolete.

The fifth, sixth, and seventh sentences of
present Art. 77A, §9A (a), which provide for
staggered 6 year terms and reappointment of
members, are deleted as unnecessary in light of
the similar, generally applicable provisions of
§16-201(d) of this title.

The ninth sentence of present Art. 77A, §9A(a) ,
which provides for selection of a chairman of the
Board, is deleted as unnecessary in light of the
generally applicable provisions of §16—202 of
this title.
