MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Chapter 1

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 1—17,
title "Adoption of common seal; specifications" of
Chapter 1, title "General Provisions," Montgomery
County Code 1972, as amended, to provide that the
common seal of Montgomery County shall tear on the
outer margin thereof the words "The Seal of Montgomery
County, Maryland, 1776" and to further provide that the
crest from the Montgomery County Coat of Arms shall
appear in the center of the common seal.

Chapter 2

AN ACT to repeal and re—enact with amendments Section 1—8,
title "County flag, coat of arms, crest and motto," of
Chapter 1, title "General Provisions" of the Montgomery
County Code 1972, as amended, to provide for a
redefinition of the specifications of the County flag
and the coat of arms, motto and other wording contained
thereon, to specify the lawful use of the coat of arms
and to provide for penalties for the violation of this
Section.

Chapter 3

AN ACT to amend Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1972, as amended, by repealing
and re—enacting with amendments, Section 2-43., title
"Generally," of "Division 8. Department of Police," to
delete the provision that the Chief Administrative
Officer shall serve as Director of the Department of
Police and to provide that the Department of Police
shall be under the immediate direction of a Director
appointed by the County Executive, subject to
confirmation by the County Council.
