MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

A RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Sykesville adopted pursuant to the authority of Section 3
(Home Rule) of Article XI-E (Municipal Corporations) of the
Constitution of Maryland and of Section 13 of Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland, titled "Corporations -
Municipal", subtitle "Home Rule" to ratify and reenact a
Charter Amendment Resolution adopted by the Mayor and
Council of the Town of Sykesville at its regular meeting
held on March 13, 1972, thereby amending Section 18—57 of
the Code of Public local Laws of Carroll County (1976
Edition) , so as to eliminate the necessity of submitting to
referendum the question of bond issues in excess of
$50,000.00 in any fiscal year, the matter hereinafter
enclosed in brackets indicating matter deleted from Section
18-57 of the Charter.

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town      of

Sykesville have determined that it is advantageous to      the

Town of Sykesville that the Charter requirement of    the

issuance of bonds in any fiscal year be submitted      to
referendum, be repealed; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town      of

Sykesville desire to assure that the Charter Amendment      set

forth in the Resolution passed on March 13, 1972      is
effectively and legally adopted; NOW THEREFORE

[Section 18—57 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Carroll County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

A RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Sykesville adopted pursuant to the authority of Section 3

the Annotated Code of Maryland, titled "Corporations -

Council of the Town of Sykesville at its regular meeting
held on April 24, 1975, thereby amending Section 18—6 and
Section 18-19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Carroll
County (1976 Edition), so as to increase the fee that each
councilman receives for attending each Town Council meeting
from $2.00 to $10.00 and to increase the fee that the Mayor
receives for attending each Town Council meeting from $5.00
to $20.00, the matter hereinafter enclosed in brackets
indicating matter deleted from Sections 18-6 and 18-19 and
the matter hereinafter in CAPITALS indicating matter added
to Sections 18-6 and 18-19 of the Charter.

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Sykesville desire to assure that the Charter Amendment set
