Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 697.

This bill enables the boards of trustees of several
retirement systems to increase certain contribution rates to
meet certain deficiencies and requires increases for
liquidation of certain increases in accrued liability within
specified periods.

House Bill 1121, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
697.

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore County - Outdoor Music Festivals

FOR the purpose of including Baltimore County in the
provisions of the statewide law on outdoor music
festivals.
