VETOES

FOR the purpose of requiring annual operating budgets of
community colleges to show all revenues and
expenditures; providing for certain categories of
revenues and expenditures; and generally relating to
the contents of the operating budgets of community
colleges.

May 29, 1978
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 682.

This bill requires annual operating budgets of
community colleges to show all revenues and expenditures and
provides for certain categories of revenues and
expenditures.

House Bill 815, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 29, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
682.

Sincerely,
Blair Lee III
Acting Governor

Senate Bill No. 697 — Pensions — Accrued Liability

AN ACT concerning

Pensions — Accrued Liability

FOR the purpose of enabling the boards of trustees for the
Employees' Retirement System, the Teachers' Retirement
System, and the State Police Retirement System to
increase certain contribution rates to meet certain
deficiencies; requiring increases in certain

contribution rates for liquidation of certain increases
in accrued liability within specified periods; and
requiring certain calculations of accrued liability
contribution rates at certain times.
