BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor                        3057

certain provision of the criminal code pertaining to
obscene matter; reenacting a certain provision of the
criminal code which makes it unlawful to sell,
distribute, print, exhibit or engage in certain other
acts pertaining to obscene matter; and providing that
this Act is an emergency measure.

May 29, 1978
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 629.

This bill repeals language in the Obscene Matters Act
which exempted theatre employees from liability.

House Bill 747, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on March 22, 1978, accomplishes
the same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
629.

Sincerely,
Blair Lee III
Acting Governor

Senate Bill No. 661 — Baltimore County — Animal

Control.
