BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor                        3035

I have today vetoed House Bill 619. Based upon the same
policy considerations set forth in the veto message
accompanying House Bill 619, I have decided to veto Senate
Bill 296.

Sincerely,
Blair Lee III
Acting Governor

Senate Bill No. 310 - Theft - Railroad Freight

AN ACT concerning

Theft — Railroad Freight

FOR the purpose of making it a crime for committing, aiding,
abetting, or counselling the breaking and entering, by
force, into certain secured or attached railroad
freight with the intent to steal certain items therein;
defining a certain term; and clarifying language.

May 29, 1978
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 310.

This bill makes it a crime to break and enter into

certain secured or attached railroad freight with an intent

to steal certain contents-
House Bill 492, which was enacted by the General

Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the

same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
310.

Sincerely,
Blair Lee III
Acting Governor
