Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 186.

This bill deletes an inconsistency in the length of
time for which the Office for Coordination of Services to
the Handicapped remains in existence.

House Bill 60, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
186.

AN ACT concerning

Pensions — Definitions

FOR the purpose of redefining, for purposes of the Pension
Article, the terms "employee," "regular interest," and
"average final compensation"; and numbering certain
provisions.
