A House Joint Resolution concerning

Environmental Protection Agency Unleaded Gasoline Laws

FOR the purpose of requesting the nation's major oil
companies to inform their customers of the legal
penalties that gasoline station operators face for
putting leaded gasoline into automobiles or vehicles
that require unleaded fuel.

WHEREAS, The Environmental Protection Agency of the
United States of America enforces regulations requiring that
only unleaded fuel be used in automobiles or vehicles
designated for unleaded fuel use; and

WHEREAS, The Environmental Protection Agency enforces
these regulations through court proceedings; and

WHEREAS, Several municipal subdivisions within the
United States as well as the United States Postal Service
have been cited or fined for violating gasoline regulations;
and

WHEREAS, Environmental Protection Agency Assistant
Administrator for Enforcement, Marvin B. During, has
requested the nation's major oil companies to inform their
customers of the legal penalties that gasoline station
operators face for putting leaded gasoline into automobiles
or vehicles that require unleaded fuel; and
