Ch. 986

(b) No person, firm, association or corporation

domiciled, resident, incorporated, or licensed as a private
detective, business or investigator, under the laws of any

other state of the United States or of any foreign country

may conduct or solicit business for, a private detective
business, or the business of a private detective or private

investigator, within this State until and unless they shall
first have applied for and obtained from the Superintendent

a license as provided for in this subtitle and shall first

become subject to all the provisions of this subtitle. A

LICENSEE SHALL MAINTAIN A PRINCIPAL AN OFFICE IN THIS STATE.
A LICENSEE SHALL MAINTAIN IN AN OFFICE IN THIS STATE RECORDS
AND FILES MADE IN THIS STATE WHICH RELATE TO INVESTIGATIONS
IN THIS STATE.

[(d) The principal office and each individual branch
office of each firm, association or corporation licensed
hereunder shall be operated under the direction, control,
charge or management in this State of an individual
licensee- Whenever such individual licensee directing,
controlling, in charge of or managing the principal office
or any individual branch office of a firm, association, or
corporation licensed hereunder shall for any reason
terminate his direction, control, charge or management of
such licensee, the principal office or branch office of such
licensee may be continued licensed hereunder for a period of
ninety (90) days, except that if the termination was caused
by death of, or incapacitating injury to, the licensee, the
principal office or branch office of the licensee may be
continued licensed hereunder for a period of six months; and
at the end of either period as the case may be, such firm,
association or corporation's license shall be revoked unless
another licensee shall have assumed the direction, control,
charge or management of such firm, association, or
corporation.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
76(e) of Article 56 — Licenses, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 76(h) (f).

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 — Licenses

76.

(D) EACH INDIVIDUAL BRANCH OFFICE OF A LICENSED FIRM,

ASSOCIATION, OR CORPORATION SHALL BE MANAGED BY AN

INDIVIDUAL LICENSEE.

(E) THE PRINCIPAL OFFICE OF EACH LICENSED FIRM,

ASSOCIATION, OR CORPORATION SHALL BE MANAGED BY AN

INDIVIDUAL LICENSEE WHO SHALL BE A RESIDENT OF MARYLAND.
