Maryland for a period of not less than three years
immediately prior to the date of appointment and shall be
appointed from a list of names submitted by the Maryland
Nursing Home Association, Inc.; one member shall be a member
of a faculty of a graduate school of public health in the
State of Maryland; twelve members shall be representatives
of consumers of hospital services selected from among
persons familiar with the need for such services in urban
and rural areas; and one member shall be appointed from a
list submitted by the Commissioner of Health. Members shall
be reimbursed for expenses incurred while actually engaged
in the performance of their duties in accordance with the
standard travel regulations.
(d) In addition to the members so appointed, the
persons holding the following positions shall also serve as
members of said Advisory Council; the Commissioner of Mental
Hygiene of Maryland; and the commissioner of health of
Baltimore City. ]
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
566(b), (c), and (d), respectively, of Article 43 - Health,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be
Section(s) 566(a), (b), and (c), respectively.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, in
appointing tie initial members of the Statewide Health
Coordinating Council under Section 2 of this Act, the
Governor may consider those members serving as of June 1,
1978 on the State Health Coordinating Council created by
Executive Order 01.01.1976.07, dated August 5, 1976, and
promulgated pursuant to § 59C of Article 41 of the Code.
SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That all
employees of the Maryland Comprehensive Health Planning
Agency shall be transferred to and become employees of the
Maryland Health Planning and Development Agency, without any
diminution in salary or benefits; all property, funds,
assets, liabilities, contracts, documents, and records of
the Maryland Comprehensive Health Planning Agency shall be
transferred to and become the property, funds, assets,
liabilities, contracts, documents, and records of the
Maryland Health Planning and Development Agency; all
references in the Annotated Code of Maryland and any other
law, ordinance, bylaw, rule, regulation, order, directive,
or document to the Maryland Comprehensive Health Planning
Agency shall be deemed to refer to the Maryland Health
Planning and Development Agency created by this Act; and all
rules, regulations, orders, and directives of the Maryland
Comprehensive Health Planning Agency shall remain in effect
as rules, regulations, orders, and directives of the
Maryland Health Planning and Development Agency until
changed by the Maryland Health Planning and Development
Agency.
SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to alter or
