50,000; and

(ii) Any regional community college if the
counties that support the regional community college have a
combined population of less than [100,000] 150,000.

(3) The State share is 55 percent of the
current expenses for Garrett Community College and
Chesapeake College, but not more than $1,485 per full—time
equivalent student.

(e) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this
subsection, the students at each community college shall
pay, through tuition and fees, at least 22 percent of
current expenses.

(2)    The students shall pay, through tuition and
fees, 17 percent of current expenses at:

(i) Any community college with less than
500 full-time equivalent students if the county in which the
community college is located has a population of less than
50,000; and

(ii) Any regional community college if the
counties that support the regional community college have a
combined population of less than [100,000] 150,000.

(3)    The students, through tuition and fees,
shall pay 13 percent of current expenses at Garrett
Community College and Chesapeake College.

(4)    This subsection does not prohibit a     county
or regional board of trustees from requiring students   at the
community college to pay more than their share   of the
current expenses.

(a)(1) The Board of Trustees of Chesapeake College
consists of [eight members] TWO MEMBERS FROM EACH COUNTY

THAT, SUPPORTS CHESAPEAKE COLLEGE WHO SHALL BE appointed by

the Governor under §16-201 of this title, with the advice
and consent of the House of Delegates.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
