the retail sales tax on food purchased at retail in an

amount in excess of $1 take effect on July 1, 1978,

contingent upon the taking effect of Chapter_____of the Acts

of 1978 (House Bill 404).

SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

Regional Community Colleges — Population of Counties

FOR the purpose of altering the population level required to
support a regional community college; and specifying a
certain number of members serving as a Board of
Trustees at a certain regional Community College.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter ____ of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article — Education

16-403.

(c) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this
subsection, the State share is 50 percent of the current
expenses of each community college, but not more than $800
per full-time equivalent student.

(2) The State share is 55 percent of the
current expenses, but not more than $1,250 per full—time
equivalent student for:

(i) Any community college with less than
500 full-time equivalent students if the county in which the
community college is located has a population of less than
