NOT ALL THOSE PERSONS ARE PHYSICALLY PRESENT AT THE TIME THE
COUNT IS TAKEN. RESIDENTS PHYSICALLY PRESENT PLUS THOSE ON
ANY LEAVE OF 18 DAYS OR LESS.

(B) IN ANY FACILITY REQUIRED TO KEEP A CERTAIN NUMBER

OF BEDS AVAILABLE FOR RESPITE CARE, THE NUMBER OF RESIDENTS

IS THE NUMBER OF PERSONS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE

FACILITY ON ANY GIVEN DAY, WHETHER OR NOT ALL THOSE PERSONS

ARE PHYSICALLY PRESENT AT THE TIME THE COUNT IS TAKEN, PLUS
2 PERCENT OF THAT NUMBER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED,
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Distinguished Scholar Program

FOR the purpose of creating a program of Chancellor's
Scholarships at the University of Maryland for Maryland
high school students with special intellectual talents;

providing for the nomination, qualifications, and

requirements of participants in this program; providing

for the number, amount, use administration, and source

of scholarships in this program; and generally relating

to the Chancellor's Scholarship Program Distinguished

Scholar Program to be administered by the State

Scholarship Board for certain Maryland high school
students attaining certain scores on the Scholastic

Aptitude Test (SAT) demonstrating potential for

academic success in higher education; providing for the

offering, selection,_qualifications, and requirements

of participants in this program; providing for the
number, amount, use, administration, and funding source
of scholarships in this program; and generally relating
to the Distinguished Scholar Program.

BY adding to

Article - Education

Section 18-1101 through 18-1106 18-1105, to be under
the new subtitle "Subtitle 11. Chancellor's
Scholarship Distinguished Scholar Program"
