equivalents, including [completion of related academic
curricula] DEGREES FROM ACCREDITED COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES,
IN AREAS OF RELATED ACADEMIC CURRICULA such as psychology
and counselling[, and practical experience in related fields
of work properly supervised and documented]. A DEGREE IN
AREAS OF RELATED ACADEMIC CURRICULA IN ORDER TO BE
RECOGNIZED AS AN ACADEMIC EQUIVALENT SHALL INCLUDE, AS PART
OF THE DEGREE PROGRAM, FIELD WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE PRACTICE

OF SOCIAL WORK IN__A LICENSED SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY. THE

BOARD SHALL BY REGULATION SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH THOSE
DEGREES FROM ACCREDITED COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES WHICH WILL
BE CONSIDERED ACCEPTABLE ACADEMIC EQUIVALENTS.

IT IS THE INTENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THAT LICENSES
MAY BE GRANTED TO APPLICANTS WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED A SOCIAL
WORK PROGRAM ACCREDITED BY THE COUNCIL ON SOCIAL WORK
EDUCATION, BUT HAVE DEGREES IN AREAS OF RELATED ACADEMIC
CURRICULA.

(D)    FROM JULY 1, 1978 TO DECEMBER 31, 1978, A LICENSE
AS A SOCIAL WORK ASSOCIATE MAY BE ISSUED WITHOUT EXAMINATION
TO AN APPLICANT WHO SATISFIES THE BOARD THAT HE IS AND
ACTUALLY HAS BEEN ENGAGED, FOR AT LEAST 15 8 YEARS, PRIOR TO
JULY 1, 1977, IN THE PRACTICE OF SOCIAL WORK IN A LICENSED
SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY.

(E)    ANY PERSON WHO FILED AN APPLICATION FOR LICENSING
WITHOUT EXAMINATION PRICE TO JULY 1, 1977, AND WAS DENIED
CERTIFICATION OR WAS GRANTED CERTIFICATION AT A LOWER LEVEL
THAN APPLIED FOR, SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO REAPPLY FOR
CERTIFICATION UNDER THE REVISED STANDARDS WITHOUT
EXAMINATION BEFORE DECEMBER 31, 1978.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

FOR the purpose of prohibiting the Public Service Commission
from requiring that an intervenor certain intervenors
be represented by an attorney in any proceeding before
the Commission.
