(1)    PAY TO SUPERVISING TEACHERS, SUPERVISORS OF
PUPIL PERSONNEL, AND VISITING TEACHERS SALARIES THAT ARE
MORE THAN THE MINIMUM SALARIES PROVIDED FOR IN THIS SECTION;
AND

(2)     EMPLOY ADDITIONAL SUPERVISING TEACHERS,
SUPERVISORS OF PUPIL PERSONNEL, AND VISITING TEACHERS.
(E) LEVY TO MEET SALARIES.

THE COUNTY GOVERNING BODY COMMISSIONERS, COUNTY

COUNCIL, AND MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE CITY:

(1)    SHALL LEVY SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO MEET THE
SCALE OF MINIMUM SALARIES PROVIDED FOR IN THIS SECTION; AND

(2)    MAY NOT DENY ANY OF THE AMOUNT REQUIRED FOR
A SCHOOL YEAR TO PAY THE MINIMUM SALARIES OF PROFESSIONAL
EMPLOYEES WHO ARE NOT ASSIGNED TO SCHOOLS IF THE NUMBER OF
PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES WHO ARE NOT ASSIGNED TO SCHOOLS DOES
NOT EXCEED 5 PERCENT OF THE ALLOWED PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES
AS DEFINED UNDER §2-205(N) OF THIS ARTICLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as Art.
77, §68(d), (e), (f), (g), and (i).

In subsection (d) of this section, the present
reference to the "School Commissioners of
Baltimore City" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the definition of "county board" in
§1-101 of this article.

Also in subsection (d) of this section, the
present phrase "but such excess salaries ... the
State" is deleted as obsolete as it refers to a
repealed funding formula.

The only other changes are in style.

6-303. SALARIES OF TEACHERS EMPLOYED IN INSTITUTIONS AND
VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION PROGRAMS.

(A) EQUIVALENT SALARIES FOR TEACHERS.

AN INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYED AS A TEACHER, PRINCIPAL,
DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, OR SUPERVISOR OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
ON THE STAFFS OF THE FOLLOWING INSTITUTIONS OR IN THE
FOLLOWING PROGRAMS SHALL BE PAID AN ANNUAL SALARY OF NOT
LESS THAN THE SALARY RECEIVED BY A PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER OF
SIMILAR TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE IN THE COUNTY WHERE THE
INSTITUTION IS LOCATED:

(1)   BOYS' VILLAGE OF MARYLAND;

(2)   MARYLAND TRAINING SCHOOL FOR BOYS;

(3)   MONTROSE SCHOOL FOR GIRLS;
