(2) If a patient is on leave of absence from a
facility, the facility shall receive payment for each day
that the patient is absent and a bed is reserved and made
available for the patient upon that patient's return.
(c) Payments under [(b)(1)] PARAGRAPH (1) OF
SUBSECTION (3) OF THIS SECTION shall be made for the maximum
periods allowed under rules and regulations of the UNITED
STATES Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
Payments under [(b)(2)] PARAGRAPH (2) OF SUBSECTION (B)
shall be made for a maximum aggregate of [10] 18 days in any
calendar year. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY REGULATION TO THE
CONTRARY, A LEAVE OF ABSENCE IS NOT SUBJECT TO ANY
REQUIREMENT THAT IT MUST NOT EXCEED A PARTICULAR NUMBER OF
DAYS PER VISIT, EXCEPT THAT THE LEAVE OF ABSENCE MAY NOT
EXCEED A TOTAL OF 18 DAYS DURING ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD.
(d) Payments required under this section shall be
made according to the per diem payment procedures
established by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene,
and shall not be less than the per diem payments made to the
facility during the tine that the patient is present in the
facility.
(e) A facility may not assess additional charges
against a patient because the patient is temporarily absent
from the facility.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning
Vehicle laws - Record Keening
FOR the purpose of providing that Motor Vehicle
Administration may require business licenses to
requiring__that business licensees maintain and keep
certain records, that these records be kept for a
certain time, and that during business hours these
records be available for inspection by the Motor
Vehicle Administration or any police officer; deleting
the time period for which each licensed wrecker and
scrap processor must keep certain records; and deleting
the record keeping and inspection requirement relating
to licenced drivers' schools.
