THE PERSON SATISFIES THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.
HOWEVER, THIS SUBSECTION DOES NOT LIMIT AN INDIVIDUAL WHO,
ON JULY 1, 1978, HOLDS A VALID LICENSE FROM RENEWING THE
LICENSE.

(B)    ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO DESIRES A LICENSE TO PRACTICE
AS A MIDWIFE SHALL FILE WITH THE SECRETARY BOARD A WRITTEN
APPLICATION. THE SECRETARY BOARD SHALL DETERMINE THE FORM
AND CONTENT OF THE APPLICATION AND MAY REQUIRE A REASONABLE
APPLICATION FEE.

(C)    EACH APPLICANT FOR A LICENSE TO PRACTICE AS A
MIDWIFE SHALL PRESENT TO THE SECRETARY BOARD, SATISFACTORY
EVIDENCE THAT THE INDIVIDUAL IS:

(1) 18 YEARS OLD OR OLDER;

(2) AN INDIVIDUAL OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER;

(3)    LICENSED IN THIS STATE AS A REGISTERED
NURSE;

(4)    CERTIFIED BY THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF
NURSE-MIDWIVES AS A NURSE MIDWIFE; AND

(5) A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE.

(D)    THE SECRETARY BOARD SHALL ISSUE A LICENSE TO EACH
APPLICANT WHO SATISFIES THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

(B) NO INDIVIDUAL MAY BE LICENSED AS A MIDWIFE UNDER

THIS SUBTITLE FOLLOWING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF REGULATIONS

PROMULGATED UNDER THE NURSE PRACTICE ACT AND ALL OTHER

APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF LAW.

(F) (E) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF THIS

SECTION OR SUBTITLE TO THE CONTRARY, THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR

THE LICENSURE OF ALL NURSE MIDWIVES PREVIOUSLY LICENSED BY

THE SECRETARY ON OR BEFORE JUNE 30, 1978 IS TRANSFERRED TO

THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF NURSES AS OF THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF
REGULATIONS PROMULGATED UNDER THE NURSE PRACTICE ACT AND ALL

OTHER APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF LAW.

[87.

(a) Any person not licensed to practice midwifery on
or before July 1, 1924, who shall desire to obtain a
license, shall make written application to the State Board
of Health and shall furnish a certificate of moral character
and a certificate of the applicant's qualifications for
licensure, provided that nothing in this subtitle shall be
construed to prevent any person who is entitled to licensure
under Chapter 94 of the Acts of 1912 from obtaining a
license under the provisions of this subtitle, without
examination, provided that any such person not licensed
prior to July 1, 1924 shall make application for such
license before January 1, 1925.
