AN ACT concerning
Garrett County — County Commissioners (Salary)
FOR the purpose of altering the salary of each of the
Garrett County Commissioners and specifying that the
salary alterations do not affect the incumbent Garrett
County Commissioners.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 12 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:
Article 12 - Garrett County
7-5.
Each member of the Board of County Commissioners of
Garrett County shall receive as salary a total sua of [six
thousand dollars ($6,000.00) annually, except for the
chairman, who shall receive sixty-five hundred dollars
($6,500.00)] THIRTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($13,100.00) annually. Each commissioner shall also
receive, exclusive of salary, an annual expense allowance of
not less than twelve hundred dollars ($1200.00), provided
that he submit an itemized account substantiating the amount
of his expenses. These sums shall be paid in monthly
installments.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act concerning the salaries of the County
Commissioners may not be construed to extend or apply to the
salaries of the County Commissioners in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salaries of the County Commissioners shall
take effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
