SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County Board of Education —
Withdrawal of Nomination
MC 249-78

FOR the purpose of conforming the withdrawal date of
candidates for nomination to the Montgomery County
Board of Education to the Election Code.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 — Election Code
Section 32-6 (a) (1)
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter _____ of the Acts of

the General Assembly of 1978)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter _____ of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows;

Article 33 — Election Code

32-6.

(a) (1) Except as provided in this section,
nominations for membership on the Montgomery County Board of
Education shall be made by petition endorsed by a minimum of
500 voters of the County. Each petition shall be filed with
the Montgomery County Board of Election Supervisors no later
than the deadline specified in § 4A—3 of this Article, and
accompanied by a $25 filing fee. Each petition shall
conform generally to the provisions of this Article, unless
