AN ACT concerning

Firefighter Paramedics - Scholarships

FOR the purpose of providing that certain firemen shall be
reimbursed for the tuition costs of courses credited
toward a degree in emergency medical technology.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article - Education

18-605.

(b) Any professional or volunteer fireman or rescue
squad member is entitled to reimbursement by the State
Scholarship Board for tuition costs for courses credited
toward a degree in fire service technology OR EMERGENCY
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
