(a) A personal representative or special
administrator is entitled to reasonable compensation for
[his] services. If a will provides a stated compensation
for the personal representative, [he shall be entitled to]
additional compensation SHALL BE ALLOWED if the provision is
insufficient in the judgment of the court. The personal
representative or special administrator may renounce at any
time all or a part of the right to compensation.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

Medical Scholarships

FOR the purpose of changing the amount of bond required from
recipients of certain medical scholarships.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter ______ of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article - Education

18-802.

(f) The bond of each recipient of a medical
scholarship under this section shall be in an amount [at
least three times] EQUAL TO the amount of the medical
scholarship [with] PLUS A REASONABLE RATE OF INTEREST AND
OTHER security satisfactory to the State Scholarship Board.
