RIGHTS MAY NOT INTERFERE WITH AN OPERATOR IN THE DISCHARGE
OF ANY DUTIES IMPOSED BY THIS SECTION SUBTITLE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

(Senate Bill 415)

AN ACT concerning

Real Estate Licensees — Continuing Education

FOR the purpose of requiring real estate licensees to
complete certain continuing education courses as a
condition precedent to renewal of a license; providing
the time period in which the courses must be completed;
requiring the Real Estate Commission to approve such
courses; specifying the types of institutions and
organizations which may offer such courses; making the
licensee responsible for the cost of the courses; and
generally dealing with continuing education for real
estate licensees.

Section 217(f)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1972 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

217.

(F) (1) DURING THE PERIOD BETWEEN JULY 1, 1973 AND

MAY 1, 1980, AND WITHIN EVERY OTHER TWO YEAR LICENSE RENEWAL
PERIOD THEREAFTER, EVERY PERSON LICENSED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE
SHALL COMPLY WITH THE CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
ESTABLISHED IN THIS SUBSECTION AS A CONDITION PRECEDENT TO
THE RENEWAL OF A LICENSE. A LICENSEE RECEIVING AN INITIAL

LICENSE IN THE LAST YEAR OF A RENEWAL PERIOD DOES NOT HAVE

TO COMPLY WITH THIS CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT UNTIL

HIS SECOND LICENSE RENEWAL PERIOD.

(2)         A LICENSEE SHALL COMPLETE 12 CLOCK HOURS OF
