Section 2-309(k)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1974 Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

2-30 9.

(k) The Sheriff of Dorchester County shall receive a
salary of [$13,000] $17,500, and be allowed the actual cost
of the maintenance of automobiles and the county jail. He
shall appoint a chief deputy sheriff, one assistant deputy
sheriff, other deputies, and a jail matron if approved by
County Commissioners- A deputy or matron shall receive the
compensation provided in the county budget.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Sheriff of Dorchester County in office on the effective date
of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary of the Sheriff of Dorchester County shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

(House Bill 1242)

AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's County — State's
Attorney's Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salaries of the State's
Attorney and the assistant State's Attorney for Queen
Anne's County; and specifying that the alteration in
the State's Attorney's salary may not affect the
incumbent.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 10 — Attorneys At Law and Attorneys In Fact
