13-913. "FOR HIRE" VEHICLES: CLASS B (FOR HIRE)
VEHICLES.
(A) CLASSIFICATION.
(1) WHEN REGISTERED WITH THE ADMINISTRATION,
EVERY PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATED FOR THE
TRANSPORTATION OF PERSONS FOR HIRE, EXCEPT A VEHICLE
DESCRIBED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION, IS A CLASS
B (FOR HIRE) VEHICLE.
(2) THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES ARE NOT SUBJECT TO
THE CLASSIFICATION SPECIFIED IN THIS SECTION:
(I) ANY VEHICLE OPERATED ON A REGULAR
SCHEDULE AND BETWEEN FIXED TERMINI; AND
(II) ANY VEHICLE FOR WHICH A DIFFERENT
CLASSIFICATION IS SPECIFIED IN THIS PART.
(B) ANNUAL FEE.
FOR EACH CLASS B (FOR HIRE) VEHICLE, THE ANNUAL
REGISTRATION FEE IS $60.

In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the
present reference to transporting persons
"upon any of the public highways and streets
of the State" is deleted as superfluous.
In subsection (a)(2) of this section, the
defined phrases "on a regular schedule and
between fixed termini" is substituted for "on
fixed schedules". This change conforms with
the like reference in Art. 78, §32 (a-1) of the
Code; see revisor's note to §11-148 of this
article.
