deleted as unnecessary.
The only other changes are in style.
11-167. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE.
"TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE" MEANS ANY SIGN, SIGNAL,
MARKING, OR DEVICE THAT:
(1) IS NOT INCONSISTENT WITH THE MARYLAND VEHICLE
LAW; AND
(2) IS PLACED BY AUTHORITY OF AN AUTHORIZED
PUBLIC BODY OR OFFICIAL TO REGULATE, WARN, OR GUIDE
TRAFFIC.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 66 1/2,
§1-155.
The shorter, but no less meaningful, "traffic
control device" is substituted for the present
"official traffic-control device" as the
defined term.
11-168. TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL.
"TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL" MEANS ANY TRAFFIC CONTROL
DEVICE, WHETHER MANUALLY, ELECTRICALLY, OR MECHANICALLY
OPERATED, BY WHICH TRAFFIC ALTERNATELY IS DIRECTED TO
STOP AND PERMITTED TO PROCEED.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §1-201.
The term "traffic control device", which is
defined in §11—167 of this subtitle, is
substituted for the present, literally less
restrictive, "device". A traffic control
signal is intended to be nothing more than a
specific type of "traffic control device" and,
as more clearly indicated by the substituted
term, subject to the qualifications set forth
in §11-167.
The only other changes are in style.
11-169. TRAILER.
(A) "TRAILER" MEANS, EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN
SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, A VEHICLE THAT:
(1) HAS NO MOTIVE POWER;
(2) IS DESIGNED TO CARRY PEOPLE OR PROPERTY
AND TO BE TOWED BY A MOTOR VEHICLE; AND
