MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
LAWS OF THE TOWN OF CHEVERLY, MARYLAND WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Maryland provide
authority for the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of
Cheverly, Maryland, to amend the town charter and to pass
such ordinances not contrary to the public general or
public local laws and the Constitution of Maryland as
they may deem necessary in order to assure the good
government of the municipality; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of
Cheverly, Maryland, are of the considered opinion that
the good government of the town requires that Articles I,
IV and VII of the Charter should be revised and amended; [Article I, Sections C—1; Article IV, Sections C—7, C—8,
C-9, C-10, C-10A, C—11, C-12, C-13, C-14, C-15, C-16;
Article VII, Sections C-23, C-24, C-25, C-26, C-27, C-28,
C-29, C-30, C-31, C-32, C-33, C-34, and C-35 of the
Charter of Cheverly, Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments. Effective Date December 3, 1976]
ORDINANCE NO. 9-76 RESOLUTION AND ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CHARTER AND LOCAL LAWS OF THE TOWN OF CHEVERLY, MARYLAND, BY REPEALING ARTICLE VI "MEETINGS" AND ARTICLE VIII "STORM WATER AND SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE", AND SUBSTITUTING NEW ARTICLES THEREFOR WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Maryland provide
authority for the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of
Cheverly, Maryland, to amend the town charter and to pass
such ordinances not contrary to the public general or
public local laws and the Constitution of Maryland as
they may deem necessary in order to assure the good
government of the municipality; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of
Cheverly, Maryland, are of the considered opinion that
the good government of the town requires that the charter
and local laws of the town should be revised and amended; [Article VI, Sections C—19 through C-22; and Article
VIII, Sections C-36 through C-43 of the Charter of
Cheverly, Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County, repealed and added. Effective Date December 3, 1976]
