23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as
amended) to amend Section 4 entitled "Qualifications of
Councilmen" said Section being Section 5—4 of Subtitle 5
of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1963 Edition, as amended) , which article
contains in whole or in part the Charter of the City of
Bowie, by repealing and reenacting with amendment said
Section 4 providing for the lowering of the age
requirement of persons holding positions on the City
Council to eighteen years of age from twenty—one years of
age, and deleting an outdated sentence.
[Section 5—4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.
Effective Date January 27, 1976]

CHARTER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION NO. R-6-75
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOWIE,
MARYLAND adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11E
of the Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article
23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as
amended) to amend Subsection b of Section 12 entitled
"Procedure for Enacting Ordinances" said Subsection being
Subsection (b) of Section 5 — 12 of Subtitle 5 of Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1963
Edition, as amended) , which Article contains in whole or
in part the Charter of the City of Bowie, by repealing
and reenacting with amendment said Subsection b providing
for the addition of specific language relative to the
expiration of thirty days before an ordinance becomes
effective instead of a twenty day waiting period.
[Section 5—12(b) of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.
Effective Date February 10, 1976]
