EXECUTIVE ORDER OF AUGUST 5, 1976
STATE HEALTH PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, On January 4, 1975, the President of the United
States signed into law the National Health Planning
and Resources Development Act of 1975 (Public Law
93—641), providing for a national program of health
planning and resource development; and
WHEREAS, Public Law 93—641 provides for the establishment
of local health service areas in each State and the
creation or designation of a health systems agency
in and for each local health service area to develop
and provide for the implementation of a health
systems plan for its area; and
WHEREAS, Public Law 93-641 further calls upon the
Governor to designate a State agency as the State
Health Planning and Development Agency to conduct
the health planning activities of the State and to
perform certain other functions set forth in that
Act; and
WHEREAS, Public Law 93-641 also requires the creation of
a Statewide Health Coordinating Council, and
establishes criteria and procedures for the
appointment of its membership; and
