$1,000 $500 $1,000 to any candidate OR FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROMOTING OR DEFEATING THE PASSAGE OF ANY QUESTION,
PRINCIPLE, PROPOSITION, OR REFERENDUM QUESTION or to
contribute money in excess of $100 except by check in any
primary or, general OR SPECIAL election. Total
contributions by a contributor under this subsection
shall not exceed $2,500 in any primary or general
election.
(2) IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL,
ASSOCIATION, UNINCORPORATED ASSOCIATION, CORPORATION, OR
ANY OTHER ENTITY EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, TO
CONTRIBUTE ANY MONEY OR THING OF VALUE GREATER THAN
$2,500 TO ONE OR MORE COMMITTEES FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROMOTING OR DEFEATING THE PASSAGE, OF ONE OR MORE
QUESTIONS, PRINCIPALS, PRINCIPLES, PROPOSITIONS, OR
REFERENDUM QUESTIONS OR TO CONTRIBUTE MONEY IN EXCESS OF
$100 EXCEPT BY CHECK IN ANY PRIMARY, GENERAL OR SPECIAL
ELECTION. CONTRIBUTIONS UNDER THIS SUBPARAGRAPH SHALL
NOT BE COUNTED TOWARD THE CONTRIBUTION LIMIT IN
SUBPARAGRAPH (B)(1) OF THIS SECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 9C(e) of Article 81 - Revenue and
Taxes, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
