EVERY INDIVIDUAL HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY WHICH PROVIDES ANY BENEFITS FOR TEMPORARY DISABILITY SHALL INCLUDE BENEFITS FOR TEMPORARY DISABILITY CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO BY PREGNANCY, OR CHILDBIRTH, AND RECOVERY
THEREFROM. THESE BENEFITS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE SAME EXTENT AND ON THE SAME TERMS AS BENEFITS APPLIED TO ANY OTHER COVERED DISABILITY EXCEPT THAT BENEFITS FOR DISABILITIES CAUSED BY A NORMAL PREGNANCY OR NORMAL CHILDBIRTH MAY BE LIMITED TO SIX WEEKS OR MORE. THIS SECTION APPLIES TO ALL POLICIES WHICH ARE ISSUED OR DELIVERED WITHIN THIS STATE OR WHICH ARE ISSUED OR MAIN OFFICE LOCATED IN THIS STATE OR WHICH COVERS ANY PERSON WHO RESIDES OR WORKS WITHIN THIS STATE.
477N. EVERY INSURER WHICH PROPOSES TO ISSUE A GROUP OR BLANKET HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY WHICH PROVIDES ANY
BENEFITS FOR TEMPORARY DISABILITY SHALL INCLUDE OFFER THE PROSPECTIVE GROUP POLICYHOLDER THE OPTION OF PROVIDING BENEFITS FOR TEMPORARY DISABILITY CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO BY PREGNANCY, OR CHILDBIRTH, AND RECOVERY THEREFROM. THESE BENEFITS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE SAME EXTENT AND

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977. Approved May 26, 1977.
